The final day of our week in Bermuda hosting our 32 young and talented sailors was just as exciting as the rest.
They had a second opportunity to showcase their skills in a freestyle exhibition in front of the grand stands, right before the start of Sunday’s America’s Cup races! The kids had a blast while the crowd cheered their unique on water tricks. Kanoa Pick (Hawaii) said later of the roaring crowds; “they were so excited…it seemed like they were more concentrated on us than the actual America’s Cup”.
After the freestyle was over and the boats packed up, the kids had a chance to explore the America’s Cup Village one last time before heading to the Endeavour awards ceremony held in the Red Bull Youth America’s Cup sail loft. The room was full of excitement and pride from the kids, to the parents, to the crew. We couldn’t have asked for a better group and experience for these young kids, and are thrilled to see the motivation for junior sailing growing every day with amazing opportunities like this one here at the 35th America’s Cup.
