Skiff Sports Limited, a company set up this year by Simon Payne (Former International Moth World Champion) and Tim Hancock (Former 505 World champion and Olympic race officer) to distribute the O’pen skiff and set up the class in the UK received its first delivery of 10 O’pen Skiffs the day the first lock down started!
However based at Hayling Island Sailing Club, and with premises in Portsmouth, Skiff Sports has been demonstrating, boats and talking with customers. We have two O’pen Skiffs demonstration boats at Hayling Island Sailing Club, and these are available for test sails.
In October we had a wet, wild and above all fun demonstration day where the wind went from 2 to 28 knots. Some 10 kids got to sail the O’pen Skiff for the first time!
The O’pen Skiff is still relatively new in the UK but we look forward to catching up other country associations, and we will be announcing our 2021 events schedule shortly!
